I-SS announces 2-hour delay for students Friday

After consultation with Iredell County Emergency Management, Iredell-Statesville Schools will operate Friday, January 5, 2018, on a two hour morning delay for students only. Prime Time will also operate on a two hour delay. .Very cold wind chills are expected with wind chill values falling to between zero and minus 5 degrees.

Iredell-Statesville Schools takes into consideration many factors when making decisions about delaying, dismissing early, or canceling school, understanding that many families have little to no flexibility with their employers and this can put a family into a difficult situation when school hours are changed due to weather. The District makes calls to surrounding school systems to check on plans they may have in place during severe weather. However, when a wind chill factor such as this is anticipated, we must take caution with our students who may be waiting on their school bus.
