Construction continues on new Iredell-Statesville middle schools, expected to open in 2020

The final projects of the 2014 School Bond funds are well underway in the Iredell-Statesville Schools. Third Creek Middle School will be located at 359 E. Barkley Road in Statesville, right besie Third Creek Elementary. The 6-8 school will serve students who are currently zoned to attend Statesville Middle School. Woodland Heights Middle School will be located right beside Woodland Heights Elementary at 272 Forest Lake Boulevard in Mooresville, just off of Brawley School Road. The school will serve students who are currently zoned for Brawley Middle School.

Both schools are are on track to open with the 2020-2021 school year.

Rob Jackson, Director of Construction and Facilities Use stated that, “Both Third Creek Middle and Woodland Heights Middle schools are progressing very smoothly. Heavy rains at the beginning of the project caused some scheduling problems but with 90% of all the footings and slabs poured, the above ground work is moving well.”
