Woman accused of stealing vehicle after spending the night at victim’s home

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Sunday, June 16, 2019 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a larceny of a motor vehicle at a residence located on Raven Road in Harmony.

Once Deputies arrived at the residence, they spoke with the owner of the vehicle who stated Kimberly Shores, had stayed at the home the night the vehicle was stolen. The victim went on to tell the Deputies Shores did not have permission to take or use the vehicle.

A report was filed where the vehicle was listed as stolen. Later on the same day of the report, the victim contacted the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. The victim advised they had located the vehicle in Rowan County at an address Kimberly Shores was known to frequent.

The victim took the vehicle from Kimberly Shores and drove it home. During the course of the investigation it was also determined there had been items stolen from the vehicle.

Arrest warrants were obtained for Kimberly Shores for Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and Misdemeanor Larceny. Shores was arrested on these warrants on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 and processed at the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office. Shores received a 7,500.00 dollars secured bond by Magistrate Pardue of Yadkin County.
