Two suspects plead guilty in 2018 rodeo shooting that injured three teens

On Thursday, May 8, 2019, two suspects pleaded guilty to attempted first degree murder charges in connection to the 2018 Fiesta Rodeo shooting incident that injured three teens. Jadakiss Ja’Wade Morrison, 20, and Jaquez Towayne Gaines, 18, each pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted first degree murder before Superior Court Judge Hamilton last week.

Morrison received 12-15 years active sentence and Gaines received 10-13 years active sentence. Three additional suspects received similar sentences after pleading guilty earlier this year.

Okiero Shuford was sentenced on January 25, 2019 to more than 10 years (125 to 162 months) active sentence for attempted first degree murder charges, Keeven Trent was sentenced on March 12, 2019 to more than 10 years (125 to 162 months) active sentence for attempted first degree murder charges and Deontae Savoy was sentenced on March 8, 2019 to more than 4 ½ years (58-82 months) active sentence for conspiracy to commit murder charges.
