Two charged in Mooresville armed robbery investigation

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – On Sunday, September 9 at 11:32 p.m., Mooresville Police responded to the 700 block of North Main Street in reference to an armed robbery. Officers spoke with a male victim who stated he had been robbed by a male and female suspect who accosted him and demanded his property. The victim knew the suspects.

Officers executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home and obtained evidence related to the robbery. Samantha Kanode, 27, of China Grove, was charged with Armed Robbery and Kidnapping. Jesse L. Safrit, 30, of Mooresville was charged with Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Assault by Pointing a Gun, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Both suspects were taken to the Iredell County Jail where Safrit received a $250,000 secured bond and Kanode received a $150,000 secured bond.
