Troutman woman charged with stalking two days in a row

PRESS RELEASE

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Monday, July 2, 2019 a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to stalking, and trespassing. Detective Sergeant Katie Harwell of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit was assigned the case.

During the course of the investigation, Det. Sgt. Harwell gathered statements from the victims about the suspect, Melinda Brown Little having stalked them and trespassed on their property. The victims originally had taken out charges on this suspect in 2017. Since this time Brown has continued to harass, stalk and trespass on the victim’s family property at different times.

Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, Det. Sgt. Harwell was able to obtain arrest warrants for Melinda Little on counts of Misdemeanor Second Degree Trespass, Misdemeanor Cyberstalking and two counts of Misdemeanor Stalking.

Melinda Little was arrested on Monday, July 8, 2019. She was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where she was served with her warrants. Magistrate S. Watkins issued a 3000.00 dollar secured bond on this charge.

Little made this bond as was released. As part of the bond release instructions, Little was ordered to not go around or harasses the victims. On Tuesday, July 9, 2018 at 8:43 am she drive by the victim’s residence.

Det. Sgt. Harwell gathered additional evidence of Little going near the victims home and business.

Based on this evidence, Det. Sgt. Harwell was able to obtain Felony Stalking warrants for the suspect.

Melinda Little was arrested again on Friday, July 12, 2019 and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where she was served with one Felony Count of Stalking. Little received a 25,000.00 dollars secured bond by Magistrate D. Chambers.
