Texas man accused of transporting illegal immigrants across the border arrested in Taylorsville

On Monday, June 10, 2019, at approximately 5:45 PM, officers with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, Taylorsville Police Department, and United States Marshals Service, responded to an apartment complex located in Taylorsville in reference to a wanted individual by the United States Marshal Service out of Texas. Officers located Jessie Barnes, W/M, age 25, originally of Texas. He was taken into custody on a Federal Detainer for Felony Probation Violation for Transporting Aliens Across the Border. This warrant was issued for Barnes on May 30, 2019, after which Barnes went on the run. Barnes was transported to the Alexander County Detention Center and is being held without bond, awaiting transport by the United States Marshals Service to Texas.
