Statesville man facing methamphetamine charges in Troutman

PRESS RELEASE

ON 03/14/18, OFFICERS WITH THE TROUTMAN STOPPED A MARCUS ZIMMERMAN OF STATESVILLE, NC FOR A TRAFFIC VIOLATION. WHILE THE STOP WAS BEING CONDUCTED, OFFICERS OBSERVED THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE MOVING AROUND RAPIDLY AS IF THEY WERE ATTEMPTING TO HIDE OR RETRIEVE SOMETHING. WHILE OFFICERS WERE INTERACTING WITH THE OCCUPANTS, THEY COULD TELL THE SUBJECTS WERE ON SOME SORT OF NARCOTIC. DURING A SEARCH OF THE VEHICLE, OFFICERS LOCATED METHAMPHETAMINE, TRAMADOL, SCALES, PLASTIC BAGGIES, AND PACKAGING MATERIAL. ZIMMERMAN WAS ARRESTED AND ISSUED A $20,000/SECURED BOND.
