Statesville man faces drug charges after search warrant executed

  

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday, February 14, 2020 Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators with assistance from the Warrant Squad execution of a narcotics search warrant at 503 Falls Street. This action concluded an undercover investigation into the sales of “Crack” Cocaine in the area of Garfield and Fall Streets.

Narcotics investigators received information about an individual, who was later identified as Rick Lee Mayfield, selling “Crack” Cocaine inside the City of Statesville in the Garfield Street area.

Investigators conducted surveillance operations verifying the information, then were able to conduct purchases of “Crack” directly from Mayfield at the residence.

Upon the execution of the search warrant, sheriff’s office investigators located Mayfield along with another male, and two females inside the residence. A search of the residence located “Crack” Cocaine, and Marijuana along with other items consistent with the sell and distribution of controlled substances.

Rick Lee Mayfield was arrested on scene, and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with: Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II Cocaine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule VI Marijuana, and Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Sell or Use Controlled Substances.

Magistrate D. Sanders issued a 15,000.00 dollars secured bond for these charges.
