Second person charged in Statesville homicide investigation

STATESVILLE, NC: On today’s date, just before 4:00pm, Antwon Deon Taylor, 25, B/M of Church St, Statesville, was arrested for felony conspiracy to commit murder for the homicide of Freeman Jacobi Wells that occurred on January 6, 2018.

He was taken before the Magistrate where he received a $500,000.00 secured bond. He is currently in custody at ICJ.

Taylor is the second suspect to be charged in connection to the January 2018 homicide. Earlier this year, members of the Violent Crimes Collaborative served warrants on Enrico Heggins, charging him with first degree murder. This investigation is continuing and additional suspects will be charged at a later date.
