Police: Three juveniles to be charged in Statesville arsons

PRESS RELEASE

The Statesville Police Department in conjunction with the Statesville Fire Marshal’s Office have been investigating a series of intentionally set fires in abandoned homes in Statesville. Two of which were at 427 and 504 Woodlawn Dr.

During the investigation, Investigators developed suspects for the fires set at 427 and 504 Woodlawn Dr. Those two fires both took place on July 30, 2017. As a result, 3 juveniles were identified, and Juvenile Petitions will be sought for: burning certain buildings, and injury to real property in those 2 cases. Their cases will be handled by the NC Dept. of Public Safety, Division of Juvenile Justice, here in Iredell County.

These juveniles are not believed to be involved with other recent Arson fires of abandoned homes in South Statesville.
