Man arrested after deputies say methamphetamine found during probation check

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Monday, December 9, 2019, detectives of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division responded to 129 Mohler Lane to assist North Carolina Probation and Parole Officers conduct a search of the residence. Rusty Shane Ray, who is currently on probation resides at this residence.

During the search of the home several packages of Crystal Methamphetamine, which were packaged for individual sale were located. Other items consistent with illegal drug sales were also found.

Small children were also living in the home. Based on this, narcotics detectives notified the Iredell County Department of Social Services to conduct an investigation into the wellbeing of the children.

Rusty Shane Ray was arrested on scene. He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with: Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, and Felony Maintain a Dwelling Place for Controlled Substance.

Ray was issued a 10,000.00 dollar secured bond on these two charges by Magistrate P. Tutterrow. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
