Man accused of stealing ex-girlfriend’s debit card twice

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Wednesday, August 28, 2019 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported larceny of a debit card from a residence on East Greenbriar Road.

The victim advised the responding deputies her debit card was stolen, and it had been used at a local business on Monday, August 26, 2019 for an unauthorized transaction of 150.00 dollars.

While detectives were investigating the larceny of the debit card the victim had the debit card replaced by the bank.

On Friday, September 13, 2019 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a breaking and entering where two debits cards had been stolen from the same residence off East Greenbriar Road.

During the course of the investigation it was determined one of the debit cards was used shortly after the victim had left her residence at a local business for an unauthorized transaction of 120.00 dollars. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as, Maurice Dennard Jacobs, the victim’s former boyfriend.

Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Detectives were able to obtain Felony Arrest Warrants for Maurice Dennard Jacobs for Felony Breaking and Entering, Three Counts of Felony Financial Card Theft, and Two Counts of Felony Identity Theft.
