Deputies: Woman tried hiding methamphetamine in pants while being processed at jail

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Thursday, October 31, 2019 deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team responded to 2187 Coddle Creek Highway to investigate a drug compliant. The sheriff’s office received numerous complaints about possible drug activity going on at the residence, and the residents were selling illegal drugs.

When the deputies arrived at the home, they knocked on the door where they were met by, and spoke with Heather Marie Sides. After speaking with Sides, who lives at the home, the deputies were given permission to enter and search the home.

While searching the house they located methamphetamine packaged in a way which in consistent with the sale of methamphetamine. They also located several plastic baggies and digital scales also consistent with the sale of narcotics.

The deputies arrested Heather Marie Sides, and transported her to the Iredell County Detention Center where she was charged with: Felony Possession with Intent to Sale or Deliver Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sides went before Magistrate P. Tutterrow where she received a 10,000 secured bond on these charges.

While being processed and booked into the detention center, Sides was found to be hiding over 20 grams of methamphetamine inside her pants. Sides was taken back before Magistrate P. Tutterrow where she was charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Jail and received an additional 15,000.00 dollars secured bond.
