Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Monday March 4, 2019 deputies were dispatched to a 911 hang up call at 1053 Midway Road. Upon arrival at the residence Deputy Hodges noticed a Pontiac passenger car sitting on the side of the road.
Deputy Hodges observed two subjects asleep in the front seat of the vehicle. After waking, and speaking with the subjects Deputy Hodges obtained information on Tony Mark Stout, and discovered there was an outstanding order for his arrest. Deputy Graves arrived on scene to assist Deputy Hodges with the investigation.
Stout was placed under arrest for the warrant. While searching Stout, deputies located 1.5 grams of methamphetamine in his front pants pocket inside a small plastic container.
The second subject in the passenger seat of the vehicle, Tara Sha Barnes, was the asked to step out of the vehicle. While speaking with the deputies, Barnes gave them a fictitious name. Barnes later advised the deputies there was methamphetamine in her purse in the car.
Upon searching the vehicle deputies located a small bag where Barnes had been sitting which contained 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, several small baggies, two sets of digital scales, glass smoking pipes and several hypodermic needles.
Both Stout and Barnes were transported to the Iredell County Detention Center Magistrates Office.
Tony Mark Stout was charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling, Vehicle or Place to Sell Controlled Substance, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Stout was also served with an outstanding Order for Arrest for failing to appear in court in Iredell County. Magistrate J. Hollar issued a 50,000.00 secured bond on these charges.
Tara Sha Barnes was charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer. While processing her arrest paperwork, it was discovered Barnes also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest out of Alexander County for failing to appear in court. Magistrate J. Hollar issued a 27,000.00 dollars secure bond on these charges.
