Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a convicted sex offender who failed to register a change of address.
Sheriff’s Detective Mark Stamey received a call in November 2019 from a North Carolina Probation and Parole officer who stated that Chad Stephenson Ramsey was no longer living at a residence on Asbury Church Road that he registered with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The officer found the residence abandoned and a padlock on the door.
As of Monday, December 9, 2019, Ramsey had not come to the Sheriff’s office to complete a change of address form as required of a sex offender in North Carolina.
Ramsey was convicted of sex offense of certain victims and taking indecent liberties with a minor on March 13, 2012 in Mecklenburg County. A warrant was issued on December 12, 2019 charging him with failure to register the change of address of a sex offender.
Ramsey is a white male, 38 years old, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 6 feet – 4 inches tall and weighs around 200 pounds.
