Arrest made in Statesville motel shots fired case



On 9/29/18, an SPD K-9 Officer initiated a traffic stop just after midnight near Secor St & Oakland Ave. James Wallington, the suspect in the 9/22/18 Brookwood Inn Shots Fired incident was identified as a passenger of the vehicle and arrested on outstanding warrants for Possession of Firearm by Felon and Discharging a Firearm Within City Limits.

Wallington was also found to be in possession of a concealed handgun and a small amount of MDMA (Scheduled I Controlled Substance). In addition to being served with the outstanding warrants, Wallington was also charged with another count of Possession of Firearm by Felon, Unlawful Carry of Concealed Weapon and Felony Possession of Sch. I Controlled Substance.

Wallington was transported to the Iredell County Jail where he was issued a $30,000 secured bond for the outstanding warrants and an additional $20,000 secured bond for the new charges.
