During the course of this investigation, Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Detectives determined that Robin Worth and other suspects had arrived at the Foster Road residence, in Woodleaf, with the intent to rob the occupants of 5920 Foster Road. During the shooting that followed Robin Worth was struck by bullets, and died in the front yard of the residence. The other suspects fled the scene. As a result of investigation, 40 year old Dundrielle Blakeney and 24 year old Dandre Mitchell were identified as the other suspects. Blakeney of East Spencer was arrested and charged with Felony Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He’s being held under a $500,000 secured bond.
On Wednesday, October 16, 2019, warrants were obtained for 24 year old Dandre Mitchell for Felony Attempted Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Mitchell was located at the Colonial Apartments on “D” Avenue in Salisbury, and arrested on these charges. Rowan County Sheriff’s Detectives executed a search warrant at this apartment, and located marijuana along with evidence possibly related to the attempted robbery. Mitchell was placed in jail under a $75,000 secured bond with additional charges possible with the marijuana seized during the search.
On Friday, September 13, 2019, just before midnight, the Statesville Police were called to the Davis Hospital, in Statesville, NC when two subjects arrived at the emergency room suffering from gunshot wounds. Both subjects were in serious condition, and transferred to Baptist Hospital for surgery. These gunshot wound victims were residents of Foster Road, in Rowan County. Statesville Police began an investigation, and made contact with Rowan County Sheriff’s Office investigators concerning the incident. These two victims were identified as 28 year old Daquon Martin and 26 year old Ronald Martin, both residents of Woodleaf, NC. At about 4:00AM, on Saturday morning, Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were called to the residence at 5920 Foster Road when the body of a black male was discovered in the front yard of this residence. Detectives with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division responded to the scene and began an investigation. The dead victim was identified as 35 year old, Robin Otto Worth Jr. Worth was found with latex gloves on his hands, and a black shirt covering his face. Worth died from a single gunshot wound.
Through the course of the investigation, RCSO Detectives were able to determine that Worth and another subject drove to the Foster Road residence from Salisbury. Robin Worth had approached the residence in an apparent robbery attempt. During the confrontation with the Martins, Worth and the other subject fired multiple shots striking both Martins. One of the Martins returned fire, and Worth was killed. The other suspect fled the scene leaving Worth in the front yard. The Martins retreated from the home, and were able to make their way to the hospital in Statesville. Robin Worth and the other suspect are both residents of Salisbury, so the Salisbury Police have been briefed on the details of this investigation.
The shooting investigation has been reviewed with the Rowan County District Attorney’s Office, and based on self-defense, murder charges related to the shooting death of Robin Worth Jr. will not be filed. The investigation into the robbery and assault of the Martins continues.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office was called to respond to 5920 Foster Rd., Woodleaf, NC at about 3:50 am this morning to check a report of a deceased male lying in the yard. Deputies responded to the address, and did locate a deceased black male, who was identified as Robin Otto Worth, Jr., a 35 year old of 2170 Grubb Ferry Rd., Salisbury, NC. Robin Otto Worth, Jr. was deceased due to an apparent gun shot wound.
Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Detectives responded to the address and began an investigation. A search warrant was executed for the address of 5920 Foster Rd. Evidence was collected along with statements from persons who were in the area of the incident. It was determined that there had been an exchange of gunfire at this location. Detectives were also able to determine that earlier, near midnight, 2 black males with gun shot wounds had presented themselves at the hospital ER, in Statesville. NC. These males were identified as Daquan and Ronnie Martin, but were uncooperative with hospital staff as to how they had been shot, but are believed to be connected to this incident.. Both of these males were sent to Baptist Hospital for surgery. Their condition is unknown at present.
