34 animals seized, breeder charged in Caldwell County



On Wednesday, December 11, Caldwell County Animal Control Officers, assisted by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputies, seized 34 animals and arrested Amanda K. Gouge, of 6109 Petra Mill Road, Granite Falls, on misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.

Animals seized include 33 dogs and 1 kitten. All of the animals have been checked by veterinarians and four of the animals remain in veterinary care.

The arrest comes as the result of an investigation that began Sunday.
