Man wanted in Rowan homicide arrested after vehicle found stuck in mud

PRESS RELEASE

Suspect, Hayden Scott Goodair, has been arrested and was taken into custody in Roberson County, at about 2:00AM this morning. Roberson County Deputies located Hayden Goodair after responding to a suspicious vehicle call at a location in their county. The caller advised that the vehicle appeared to be stuck in the mud. Once Roberson County Deputies made contact with Goodair, he initially gave a fake name. The truck was checked via NCIC and a hit did come back for the vehicle being stolen. A pistol was located in the truck which was also checked via NCIC, and it also came back as stolen.

Detectives with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office did respond to Roberson County shortly after Goodair was taken into custody. The Murder warrant was served on Goodair in Roberson County, and he will be transported back to Rowan County for a first appearance. Additional information will be released at a later time.

PRESS RELEASE

A vehicle was stolen today from Parks Road, in Woodleaf. RCSO Sheriff’s Detectives believe that murder suspect Hayden Godair possibly stole this vehicle, and is possibly traveling in this vehicle. The vehicle is described as a

1998 GMC Sonoma truck, that is white in color, with black primer paint on the doors and hood. The vehicle had right front quarter panel damage, and an orange Harley Davidson tag on the front. The vehicle should be displaying NC registration FJB-7592. A picture like the vehicle that was stolen is attached to this release.

Hayden Godair has ties to Davie County as well as Rowan County, and is believed to still be armed with a firearm. This investigation continues and anyone with information about this investigation, or the location of Hayden Godair are asked to contact Lt. C. If actual contact is made with Hayden Godair, or the stolen vehicle is spotted, the public should call 911 with the information immediately. Godair should be considered armed and dangerous.

On Sunday morning 03/03/2019, at about 1:00AM, Deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting on Cone Drive, in Woodleaf. Deputies and medical first responders discovered 17 year old Jabari Isaiah Rogers suffering from a gunshot wound in the driveway. Lifesaving attempts failed, and Mr. Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene. Rogers was reported to have been shot by a suspect that fled from the scene. Rowan County Sheriff’ Office Detectives began investigating the case as a murder.

During the course of the investigation, 25 year old Hayden Scott Godair was developed as a suspect in this case. Godair has a lengthy criminal history. As a result of the investigation, RCSO Detectives obtained an arrest warrant on Godair for murder. Hayden Godair has ties to Davie County as well as Rowan County, and is believed to still be armed with a firearm.
