New Mooresville hotels will be ready for the RNC

Mooresville is getting two new hotels – an economic impact of nearly $40 million plus about 75 full and part-time jobs.

Maya Hotels CEO JD Deva – he was at the Howard family’s Langtree plantation Thursday for a groundbreaking ceremony. The Aloft hotel and Tru Hotel by Hilton will be constructed just down the street at the corner of Langtree Road and Alcove Road.

This means nearly 150 hotel rooms, something Mooresville Convention and Visitors Bureau Chair Ron Johnson says hasn’t been seen in five years. He feels there’s room for additional growth in the hotel market.

Construction is expected to take between sixteen and eighteen months and will be finished in time for the 2020 Republican National Convention.
