Mooresville Turkey Trot volunteer struck by deer

MOORESVILLE, NC (WSIC) – An individual was struck in the head by a deer at Thursday’s Thanksgiving turkey trot in downtown Mooresville.

Fire Chief Curt Deaton tells WSIC a volunteer was injured while handing-out water. He says the deer may have been spooked by a group of runners. The volunteer suffered head injuries and was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be okay.
