MOORESVILLE, NC (WSIC) The procession for slain Mooresville Officer Jordan Sheldon is estimated to have been approximately fifteen miles in length.
Sheldon’s funeral was held at Calvary Church in Charlotte Friday morning before a massive convoy returned the fallen officer’s body to the Mooresville Police Department. One of Sheldon’s friends and co-workers who attended the funeral described it as “powerful.”
Individuals wishing to pay their respects stopped along the interstate, lined streets, and stood on overpasses while the procession passed. The procession disbanded when it reached the Mooresville Police Department where officers and family were given privacy for some quiet time together.
Sheldon was killed while conducting a traffic stop May 4.
