Statesville ABC board member elected to board of directors of North Carolina Association of ABC boards

PRESS RELEASE

Statesville ABC Board member Michelle Rokes was recently elected to the board of directors of the North Carolina Association of ABC Boards during the 2019 annual conference in Pinehurst.

The NC Association of ABC Boards represents more than 168 county and municipal ABC boards operating throughout North Carolina. The association was incorporated in 1960.  It works with its members to: promote responsible alcohol sales through control; provide the highest level of service; and generate revenue for North Carolina communities.

Rokes has served on the Statesville ABC board since 2008.  This is her second time of serving as a director of the NC Association of ABC Boards. During her last term, Rokes also served as president of the association. “It has been an honor to serve on the state board and develop productive relationships with the N.C. ABC Commission and legislature.  I look forward to representing our state’s ABC organizations and helping inform our citizens of the importance of responsible alcohol sales and generating revenue for our community and state. These are the association’s primary concerns.”

The vice-president of Opus Financial Advisors, Rokes has served in many capacities with many religious and not-for-profit organizations. She previously served as president of the Iredell Museums Board of Directors.
