Iredell County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Pegi passes away

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is deeply saddened to announce Canine Pegi passed away on Saturday, August 10.

Pegi started her career with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on October 20, 2006. Pegi was trained as a dual purpose dog specializing in Explosives Detection, and Deputy Protection. Her most recent partner was Deputy Craig Dees.

Pegi was certified through the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. She was a member of the North Carolina Explosives Detection Canine Task Force.

Sheriff Campbell said, “It is always a sad day when one of our canines pass. Pegi was a hard working Patrol Dog who played a large part in our building and security protocol. She will be deeply missed”.
