Newton Navy retires from US Navy after 22 years

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – Chief Quartermaster Beth Reiner, (middle), a Newton-Conover High School graduate and native of Newton, North Carolina, retires from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of honorable service.

Chiefs are known as the backbone in the United States Navy. They are responsible for setting a strong foundation for training and mentorship that lay the groundwork for successful and excellent units.

Reiner possess those qualities, and has been a strong advocate of helping sailors solve problems especially in her reserve unit at Commander, Navy Region Southeast (CNRSE) Regional Operational Center. After retirement, she will continue to volunteer at her church by feeding foster families.

Located aboard Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, CNRSE is the regional commander and immediate superior in command, and manages and oversees shore installation management support and execution for 15 installations within the Southeastern United States and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
