Water drawn from Lake Norman to fight large Mooresville house fire

MOORESVILLE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) – Multiple crews responded to an intense blaze early Thursday morning at a house in Mooresville.

WSIC news partner FOX 46 reports the call came in around 4 a.m. Thursday, July 5 for a home located at 165 Hickory Hill Drive.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy smoke and large flames coming from the home. Extra crews had to be called to the scene due to no nearby fire hydrants. Water had to be drawn from the nearby lake, fire officials said.

It took crews approximately 1.5 hours to get the fire under control.

Thankfully, the family living at the home were all able to escape. No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the house fire remains under investigation.
