Teen dead following Alexander shooting

On Monday, June 11, 2018 at approximately 12:55 AM, Alexander County Communications received a call of a shooting at a residence located on Will Wilson Lane in Taylorsville. Officers from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene along with Taylorsville Police Department, Alexander County EMS, and Taylorsville Fire Department and found a seventeen year old male deceased from a gunshot wound. Officers with the Sheriff’s Office processed the scene, notified the Medical Examiner, and an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday June 13, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. There was at least one other teen, along with an adult female on the scene at the time of the shooting. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office contacted the District Attorney’s Office. Once the autopsy is complete, the Sheriff’s Office will confer with the District Attorney’s Office about the incident.
