PRESS RELEASE

Piles of limbs and other yard debris can be seen on street curbs around the City thanks to the strong summer storm that blew through Statesville Wednesday afternoon.

Frederick Morrison, Sanitation Supervisor, said that City crews will pick up the debris from the curb. Limbs must be cut three-to-four feet in length and no larger than 10 inches in diameter. Oversized limbs and tree trunks will need to be removed by other means.

For the next 2-3 weeks, the $25 fee for picking up brush and yard debris that exceeds the standard 2 cubic yards, will be waived.

Crews will work steadily to pick up the debris. The public’s patience is greatly appreciated.
