Six facing drug charges following citizen complaints in West Iredell

PRESS RELEASE

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: After receiving numerous complaints of suspicious vehicles in the area of Atwell Drive in Western Iredell County, members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team conducted a motor vehicle violation checkpoint at the intersection of Eufola Road and Atwell Drive.
This checkpoint resulted in numerous charges and arrests to include the following:

Billy Banks Clawson, 41, of Stony Point, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Christopher Allen Nance, 56, of Statesville, was charged with Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Justin Dewayne Gallimore, 32, of Statesville, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Samuel Lee McCrary, 42, of Cleveland, was charged with Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

William Lee Power, 24, of Statesville, was taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and charges with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Power’s was placed under $2,500.00 secured bond.

Joseph Dale Jones, 54, of Statesville was also taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with Orders for his arrest for failing to appear in court and a probation violation. Jones received a $ 5,000.00 secured bond in reference to his charges.

Sheriff Campbell also stated it is through activities like these, we prove we are responsive to community complaints and are listening to the citizens. We will continue to be proactive in our efforts to keep the citizens of Iredell County safe.
