Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a domestic dispute Saturday (May 13, 2017) where one person were reportedly stabbed during the incident.
The suspect in the incident, Jamaica Shanqwon Williams, 35, of Lincolnton, NC attempted to flee the Oakwood Circle area in a white vehicle. A deputy gave chase with activated blue lights and sirens. The woman drove back in a second entrance to Oakwood Circle and finally stopped back at the crime scene. She was removed from the vehicle placed in custody.
The victim, Ronshawn Marquis Brooks, 32, of Oakwood Circle, Iron Station, NC was located and transported to CHS Lincoln where he received stitches for cuts on both arms and his thumb.
During the investigation Detective Justin Link learned the dispute started when Williams saw that another girl had sent a text to Brooks’ cell phone. During the argument Williams grabbed a baseball bat and struck the victim causing an injury to his hand. The victim took the bat away but Williams then grabbed a knife and cut the victim multiple times causing severe bleeding.
Williams was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and charged with one felony count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill and Inflicting Serious Injury and one misdemeanor count each of Resist, Delay and Obstruct a Public Officer, Failure to Stop for a Siren, Speeding to Elude Arrest, and Displaying Fictitious Registration Plate.
She was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $26,000 secured bond.
