Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that on Saturday July 8, 2017 the Sheriff’s Office responded to 609 Mocksville Hwy Statesville at Sharpe’s Lawn Equipment & Service. Upon arrival deputies spoke with a witness who saw a white male driving a white SUV, climb over the secured chain link fence. The witness stated that the subject then climbed onto one of the zero turn mower and began riding it around inside the secured lot.
The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division. Upon further investigation detectives reviewed the security camera video footage at the business and discovered that the suspect was Robbie Sigmon. The suspect was seen climbing over the secured chain link fence, and riding one of the zero turn mowers around inside the secured lot. It appeared that the suspect was attempting to steal the mower, however he could not locate an exit. The business owner had known the suspect for several years, and was familiar with the vehicle that the suspect was driving on this date.
A warrant was obtained against Sigmon for one count of 1st Degree Trespassing, and one count of Attempted Larceny.
Sigmon has not been located at this point, therefore anyone with information of his whereabouts is asked to call the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
