MOCKSVILLE – Transportation officials urge motorists to avoid westbound Interstate 40 near exit 174 due to a crash in Mocksville in Davie County.

The portion of the highway closed around 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, and is expected to reopen after 4 p.m.

Traffic is being detoured utilizing exit 180 B (N.C. 801), U.S. 601 South, exit 188, U.S. 421 North; exit 265 B and I-77 South.

The N.C. Highway Patrol and Davie County Sheriffs Department are on scene.
