One person injured after apartment struck in Statesville shooting

Statesville NC: On Wednesday morning, November 1, 2017, Statesville Police Officers responded to a report of several shots being fired in the 900 block of Inglewood Rd. It was reported that a suspect was shooting from a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers located several shell casings in the street, and found that an occupied apartment had been shot into. Upon speaking with occupants of the apartment, it was found that one person inside had in fact been shot. That victim had already left the scene prior to the arrival of SPD officers.

A short time later, the 21 year old male victim arrived at Davis Regional, and was being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

SPD Investigators were speaking with the victim, and were also processing the crime scene on Inglewood Rd.

The suspect(s) are unknown at this time, and vehicle descriptions have been vague and varied. The investigation is in its early stages, and is ongoing.
