A North Iredell High School grad is one of two Directors who led the production of a new ESPN Films documentary, “Baltimore Boys.”

Sheldon Candis and his partner follow the story of four boys who rose above the challenges of Baltimore’s troubled East side in the 1970s to join the ranks of the NBA. That group included David Wingate, Reggie Williams, Tyrone “Muggsy” Bogues and Reggie Lewis.

All played for the Dunbar High School boys basketball team which offered light to the neighborhood going 59-0 between 1981 and 1983. The documentary airs at 8 p.m. August 8th on ESPN.  Sheldon Candis is the youngest son of Freddie and Leslie Morrison.
