New Iredell County Athletic Director starts Wednesday

Iredell County is excited to announce the hiring of a new Athletic Director. Daniel Taylor will be joining Parks and Recreation on July 26th. Daniel will be responsible for managing the Athletic Division of Iredell County Parks and Recreation, which includes but is not limited to, baseball, soccer, cheer, and self-defense. Daniel is an Eagle Scout and grew up in Morehead City, NC. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Recreation Management. Daniel was the Parks and Recreation Specialist in Haywood County for the last four years. His duties there included oversight and management of all athletic programs, organizing special events, and being responsible for facility maintenance. Daniel served as the Special Olympics Coordinator for Haywood County from 2013 – 2017. Daniel is filling a vacancy created by the retirement of June Tutterrow. Iredell County is very excited about the opportunities and ideas that Daniel will bring to the organization.

June worked for the Iredell County Parks and Recreation Department for 32 years in various capacities. He spent the last 20 years of his career as the Athletic Director. June was a very dedicated employee, whose passion for athletics and compassion for the youth of Iredell County was always evident in his work.
