Mooresville, NC – Samone Graham, Mooresville High School science teacher, has been named the 2017-2018 Southwest Region Teacher of the Year. Graham is now one of nine finalists for the North Carolina Teacher of the Year honor.
“I have known Ms. Graham since she was a high school student and am so proud of her for this accomplishment. She has dedicated her life to making a positive difference in the lives of our youth and she has a strong desire to give back to her community. The Mooresville Graded School District and our community are blessed to have her on our team.” Superintendent Dr. Stephen Mauney said.
Graham was a Mooresville High School graduate who returned to teach at her Alma Mater in 2006. She currently teaches Biology, Honors Biology and Advanced Placement Biology to 9th through 12th grade students at Mooresville High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Winston-Salem State University and is currently working on her Masters degree in School Administration from UNC-Charlotte.
Graham’s selection as the Mooresville Graded School District’s Teacher of the Year was announced in August 2017.
