Jones named acting Iredell County Manager

After coming out of closed session on December 12, 2017 Commissioner Gene Houpe made the following motion. “Effective January 6th, 2018 we appoint Deputy County Manager Beth Jones to the acting County Manager position with all relevant authority and responsibilities with an increase of 9% in salary due to the increased duties.” The motion was passed unanimously by the Board of Commissioners.

Ms. Jones has had a broad and illustrious career in local government in our region. She began her career as the Assistant Town Manager for Mocksville from 1997-2000. She then became the Town Manager for Bermuda Run and served in that capacity from 2000-2005. From 2005-2008 she served as the Assistant County Manager/ Human Resources Director for Davie County. In 2008 the Davie County Board of Commissioners recognized the skills and value that Ms. Jones could bring to the organization as their County Manager. She served as County Manager in Davie County from 2008-2013. She then was hired by Ron Smith as the Deputy County Manager of Iredell County from 2013 until present.
