Iredell men facing drug charges in Lincoln County

PRESS RELEASE

Denver, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff’s narcotics investigators conducting a surveillance operation observed a hand to hand exchange of drugs and money Monday night that led to the arrests of two Iredell County residents.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of Walmart at 7131 Highway 73 in Denver.  Investigators followed the vehicles and stopped both cars a short distance away near the intersection of Highway 73 and Killian Farm Road.
When they approached the vehicles they noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from them.

Investigators seized a quarter pound of hydroponic marijuana and $1,150 in cash during a search of the vehicles.

Desmond Rashawn Gray, 18, of 931 Knox Road, Statesville, NC one felony count of Possession with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule VI and two felony counts of  Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule VI.   He was also charged with misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.

Moises Garay, 20, 207 Deerfield Lane, Statesville, NC was charged with two felony counts of Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule VI and one felony count each of Possession with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule VI, Maintaining a Vehicle for a Controlled Substance, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.  He was also charged with one misdemeanor count of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Gray and Garay were both jailed under a $15,000 secured bond each.
