Iredell Commissioners delay vote on employee concealed carry policy

Iredell County Commissioners held-off on a vote last night to decide whether or not County employees should be allowed to carry concealed handguns on the job.

Commissioner Gene Houpe tells WSIC this is so additional input can be obtained from staff and the public.  He says two people spoke at last night’s public hearing – one being the Solid Waste Director who brought-up potential issues to address with the policy.  Another person is said to have spoken against the proposal.

Houpe feels a vote could take place before the end of the year.
