I-SS dual-immersion student uses language skills to help lost child

An Iredell-Statesville Schools dual-immersion language student put his skills to use recently to try to help a little girl find her mother.

That audio courtesy of the East Iredell Elementary Facebook Page. Principal Amy Rhyne says the student, now in middle school, was shopping with family when they came across a girl who couldn’t speak English and was separated from her mother.

That happened at a store in Hickory. The child was reunited with her parent. The dual-immersion program allows students to learn Spanish through regular instruction.
