It’s time to talk budget. The Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education meets this afternoon to look at the options.
Staff previously outlined two plans — one using $1 million from savings, the other using $0. Without a state budget right now, any local decisions are subject to change.
Board member Cindy Haynes tells WSIC that action taken at Monday’s meeting provides the logistical backing for layoffs within the exceptional children program if needed. No one has lost their job at this point, however, the program for those with disabilities has seen fewer enrolled.
