Hickory PD investigating convenience store armed robbery

HICKORY – On July12th, 2017 at approximately 11:19 P.M., officers with the Hickory Police Department responded to the Speedway Convenience Store located at 1269 US Hwy 70 SW, Hickory in reference to an armed robbery.   The clerk reported that one suspect came into the store and demanded money while holding him at gun point.  The suspect took money from the store and left the convenience store taking the clerk’s vehicle.

The suspect is reported as a black male being approximately 5’8” and weighing approximately 185 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black plastic mask, black hoodie, dark blue long shorts, black shoes and carrying a black handgun.
At approximately 12:23 A.M. officers located the stolen vehicle at 2nd Street and 6th Ave PL SW unoccupied.
