Former Lincoln County woman pleads guilty to child sex crime

Lincolnton, NC – A former Lincoln County woman pled guilty today in Lincoln County Superior Court to conspiracy to commit child abuse by sex act and indecent liberties.

Lois Flowers Mahala, 47, of Grover, NC was arrested May 5, 2015 on the indecent liberties with a child charge and later indicted by the Lincoln County Grand Jury on January 11, 2017 on a charge of felony child abuse.

The incident involved a female who was 15 years old at the time of the incident and related to the suspect.

Mahala received a 20 month active prison sentence and will have to serve 60 months of probation after she is released from prison. She will be required to register as a sex offender and has a permanent no contact order with the victim.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detective Sally Dellinger was the investigating officer.
