Statesville NC: Today, as a result of the ongoing investigation into complaints of drug activity at locations on Cass St. and Clay St. in Statesville, SPD narcotics investigators along with the Special Response Team (SRT) executed search warrants at 2 locations this evening.
The first search warrant was served at 1010 Cass St. just after 3PM this afternoon. As a result of the search, Investigators located and seized over 600 Grams (roughly 1 ½ pounds) of marijuana and over $3,000 in cash.
Craig Eugene Rankin, B/M, 46, Of 1010 Cass St. was arrested on scene. He was charged with PWISD Marijuana, Felony maintaining a dwelling, and Felony Possession of Marijuana. Rankin was held on a $25,000 secured bond.
The 2nd search warrant was served at 1002 Clay St. at about 6:30PM. 2 suspects fled from the residence just as the officers arrived to execute the warrant. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of just over 24 grams of crack cocaine, 23 grams of marijuana, and cash. Narcotics Investigators have obtained warrants on 2 suspects as a result of this search. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
Warrants have been obtained for Okiera Donnell Myers, B/M, 34 of 1002 Clay St. for PWISD Cocaine, PWISD Marijuana, and Felony Maintaining a dwelling.
Warrants were also obtained for Marquis O’Bryan Peet, B/M, 26, of Statesville for PWISD Cocaine, PWISD Marijuana, and Felony maintaining a dwelling.
These results could not be possible without the community support and citizen involvement we have received. Community members have said “no more” to the violent crime and drug sales in their neighborhoods. We will continue working with community members to rid our neighborhoods of drug dealers and violent criminals.
