Coneweed is gone.
The Huntersville Fire Department Tweeted that residents reported seeing a road crew in a yellow truck remove the social media icon earlier today.
The weed grew out of a traffic cone across from Huntersville Fire Station Two and was bedecked with Christmas decorations. Complete with its own hashtags, the Charlie Brown like tree had a song and merchandise with money being raised to help those in need.
Some of the decorations were left behind, and the Fire Department says it’s looking-into what happened to the socially famous Coneweed.
We were just made aware of the #ConeWeed situation in Huntersville. We’re working to find out where it went and we’ll update once we know more. This is a first for us @LNCitizen @Huntersville_FD @JoeBrunoWSOC9
