South Iredell High School and the entire community is #bandstrong, something that was evident Friday at the South Iredell – Lake Norman game.
The community has been rallying around the band since last Saturday’s accident that sent more than twenty people to the hospital.
(AUDIO).”It’s awesome! Its the support of the community, its’ overwhelming. All the school’s coming together, there is no rivalry, there’s everybody supporting each other. Unity… band strong. It doesn’t get better then that!”
Band parents Marcy Shawberg and Melissa Campbell.
Numerous students from area bands came to South Iredell Friday night to perform as a sign of solidarity.
South Iredell’s half-time show included parts left silent – ones that would be played by injured band members.
The crowd joined in by dressing in white as a sign of support.
(AUDIO).”Thank you, grateful! Thank you for your support!”
The marching band at Appalachian State added its support as well – posting a picture on Facebook of band members spelling out SIHS on the App State field.
