Thursday, October 12th through Sunday, October 22nd, motorists should expect possible heavy congestion on roads in the Raleigh area due to State Fair traffic.

Roads expected to be affected include: I-40 and I-440 approaching Wade Avenue, Blue Ridge Road, Edwards Mill Road, Trinity Road, Wade Avenue, NC-54, and Hillsborough Street in the vicinity of the fairgrounds.
Congestion on these roadways is expected to be at its
highest during the evening when special events at the fair draw larger crowds, and on weekends.

Motorists not attending the event are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes away from the fairgrounds if possible. Those attending the fair are advised to carpool, drive with caution, and obey all signs and law enforcement officers.
