One dead following I-40 shooting incident in Statesville

One person is dead following a shooting incident on I-40 in Statesville Thursday. According to Police Chief Joe Barone, the situation does not appear to be random and may have been self inflicted. He does not feel there is any danger to the public and says more information will be released at a later time.

Victims identified in crash that left 79-year-old dead

A 79-year-old Mooresville man is dead following a head-on Highway 152 accident early Wednesday afternoon. Trooper McLain with the Highway Patrol says Robert Denney attempted a pass near the Rowan County line, but hit an oncoming car. The driver of that vehicle, a James Baral, was taken to the hospital.
