Bomb threat forces evacuation of Iredell elementary school

ADAPTED RADIO SCRIPT Shepherd Elementary School was evacuated Wednesday morning after a bomb threat was received via phone. Iredell Sheriff Darren Campbell says the threat proved to be without base after Deputies and bomb dogs searched the building. This happened around 11:00. Local students receiving scholarship money – Statesville High student Addison Mixson will receive more than $75,000 over four years to cheer at Wingate. Statesville’s Thursday Evening Farmers Market has presented its first ever scholarship to Luke Johnson who plans to continue the heritage of his family’s dairy farm in Olin after attending Mount Olive University.
